I took a basic class to start understanding the project of taking on the project of building a tiny home with tiny house NE. It was very informative and i had a a lot to take away and think about by the end of class. The people here are very knowledgeable.

Unprofessional customer service. I inquired about purchasing plans (the FAQ does state design plans are a service provided) for a heating system and a plumbing system for my tiny house that’s already been built. But when I received a response it had nothing to do with what I had asked. I replied again saying that there was a misunderstanding. Received another reply that only addressed the heating system (no we don’t do heating) and again ignored the plumbing question. Received another response that said “Sorry we only build in NH” and again didn’t address what I was asking. My tiny house is registered in NH and is parked less than 5 miles from the border in Maine. They never even asked where my tiny house was located. And the website says the company services all of New England. I’m very disappointed when a business disregards a customer who is willing to shell out top dollar for a niche service. If a company is too booked to take on a project then say “Our books are full until February” or whatever. The lack of professionalism is disappointing.

I attended the Tiny House Northeast Design class this past weekend. I highly recommend it for anyone that is considering tiny house living. Isa is very knowledgeable and we could tell she was excited to share her knowledge with us. This class is not a sales class but focused solely on providing information on Tiny House design and living. I can't wait to meet with Isa and get my tiny house started. Thank you!

I attended a class that Isa was teaching and was fascinated from the beginning. The Team at Tiny House Northeast is incredibly knowledgeable and have a mission to educate and enlighten anyone interested in the environment, the future of affordable housing along with the pro's and potential cons of tiny house living. She does not sugar-coat one thing. And because she doesn't, what I was left with were real and thought provoking questions about my part in the world and what I can do and how best to prepare for a life of Tiny House living. I am currently in discussions with Tiny House Northeast to begin the process of owning my own Tiny House. Isa, the Project Manager was a delight to listen to and I found myself with a renewed focus on how important her mission is and will be for decades to come. With Isa's help, along with the rest of the Team, I am well on my way to being proud of how and where I live. Thank you Isa. Stephan

Questions & Answers

Do you have sample houses to look at and walk through?

We don't have a showroom, Kimberly. Each tiny house is custom design-built for the customer, couple, family or workforce housing team. The buildings then leave us. We do have classes where we normally feature a tiny house on wheels, and have many images of past buildings. If we can answer further questions please feel free to use our Contact form on our website. A real human, and probably a project manager, will book a time to call you and answer all your questions. Thanks!

Is it possible to come to your location and if so could we see a variety of small! tiny houses, either physically or at least photos. And what hours would you be open. Thanks Jackie Van Dusen

Thank you for your good question! We do have many photos to share, noting that with every custom tiny house or office or commercial space built, it leaves the work site. Any tiny house or tiny office work site, like any construction site, is also not open to the public for safety reasons. Classes where 1 or 2 tiny houses on wheels are available to view during the class occur several times per year. A frank and honest project manager, not a salesperson, introduces and explains the building during the class. People have found the classes to be very useful. For class information please visit the website. Thanks!

Are they open to building a tiny house made of reclaimed items? Some tiny house people don't want to spend an arm and a leg.

Good question. Absolutely, reclaimed items can and should be used as often as possible. "As possible" turns out to be not often enough though: reclaimed lumber needs to be clean and square. A few nail holes and a bit of old paint might not harm anything but straight studs and lead-free paint are basic material requirements. If the materials are delivered straight, clean and square, with a 10% overage of product (an industry standard of excess) then let's take this more sustainable path to build a tiny house!
