This is a very nice trail. Paved, Flat, Level and just about all shaded. A couple nice bridges going over the river are a highlight. Marked every 1/4 mile is a plus. Seems like a relatively safe trail, a good bit of people using the trail. So if in the area and looking to get a few miles in, try here, you should enjoy it.

Neat, clean and mostly quiet. Scooters for rent. Shaded path, great views, wide paths, ample parking.

We enjoyed walking the river walk. PERCIVAL ISAND is a very straight walk in and out. The whole of the island is 56 acres. Paved so good for wheelchairs and strollers. There is no public restroom. Beautiful views of the river. Very level so not too strenuous. Beautiful natural preserve in the middle of Lynchburg.

I was here on vacation to visit other sites and did not find this location until the last day. If I could do it again, I might spend everyday here. This series of trails and natural beauty is a great place to stroll through, exercise, or just hangout. It features great views of the city, isolation in nature, and a well maintained, safe pathway. Definitly plan a hike here when visiting.
