Not the nicest looking train station but not bad, but the brutalist architecture has not aged well at this station. The lighting on the platforms are not very well lit and the storms over the years have really taken its toll of the platforms walls here. I am sure this station was nice for its time when it opened back in 1987, although it most likely had mixed reviews due too the lack of colorful art decorations here. The Orange Line platform and the waiting area is the nicest part of the station.

Back Bay is a really cool station! I really like the Orange Line platform and the look of the station. It is certainly adds some charm to the beautiful location it's in. It's also pretty clean here which is good! Why am I giving this station only 3 stars? It's mostly due to the sketchy folks hang out in the lobby, commuter rail platforms, or outside the station, so if you visit Back Bay I recommend watching your back. The Orange Line platform isn't too bad so you should be fine there but even then, be aware of your surroundings. Other than that, Back Bay is overall an average station but it does have some cool looks, I'll give it that!
