Great place to spend the day. You can walk the trails, take the children to treetop quest, play disc golf. It’s a nice little gem in Roanoke county

Beautiful place, we visited for the T Rex Trail and survived. The pond was actually more of a creek, but it was a nice creek. Definitely want to come back for the glamping so I can pretend to be a grizzled old prospector.

Nice little campground in a great Explore Park. At the visitor center I saw kids on the tree tops adventure, Even though it was raining. The visitor center threw me off, because it's the blue Ridge Parkway, Visitor Center. The staff are great, friendly and so helpful. They have the little dome cabin that I was in, bunkhouses the hold even more, and yurts which I have yet to check out. Both my cabin and the shower were disabled accessible. No keys, you get codes to get in your cabinet in the bathroom. I took pictures of them and carried my phone around just so I could get in. LOL

Stayed for 2 nights in April to check out mountain biking and hiking in Explore Park. The yurts are indeed very close to the parking and to each other but that was clear from looking at the photos on their website. Triple queen bunk tower, toilet and sink, fridge microwave and coffee pot. A roll of tp, a couple trash bags and paper towels in a dispenser (like a public restroom) were provided. Mattresses remind me of summer camp. Bathhouse for showers just a few steps away. Four single person large shower rooms that were extremely clean with quality materials. Overall impressive for a county park.

We have a primitive campground which is open, but there is a fee to camp. Visit ExplorePark.org/camping
No, the park closes at 8pm unless you are camping there. Riding after 8pm would require a special use permit from our administrative office.
Yes, the visitor center is currently open daily 9-5, but may go down to half day hours later in the winter.
Come find out. We'd love to see you. No seriously, carpie, perch, carp, etc...
Don't recall there being any camping there. There's trails and picnic areas.

You can bring your own but if you want to use their shuttle service you still have to pay a fee. If you don't mind walking and carrying your tubes you can go for free.
