This office (on 2nd floor of building) is extremely crowded (with unfortunately talkative people) and has limited daytime hours (see photo and hours listed), so prepare to wait about 2.5 to 3 hours on your average visit. Many of the staff are curt and dismissive, but not all (can't name names while reviewing). Security guard -- and my experience -- confirmed that the line moves faster in the first two hours of the morning and the last 2 hours of the day (i.e., after their lunch). The bathroom is surprisingly decent, given the number of ppl in that place. Worth your while to get on hold with a phone call to Social Security CENTRAL while you're waiting (their phone hold is never less than 1.25 hours).

Took 10 minutes of me to apply for SSN as an international student. Just go early in the morning 🌄 9ish.

Probably not. Its allowed to visit, restrictions due to covid have been lifted
I'd suggest you call them. I don't think online appointment is an option, but better to ask them
By calling them
Visit ssa.gov or find the link via by typing 'make appointment social security'... Can't miss it
I would think you'd call the IRS, most of those numbers are issued by the irs
