The ride from the main road was rough and narrow, but able to be navigated by a small car unless itβs raining where it could be slippery. Once you park, itβs a 1/2 mile walk down the trail, then over a bridge, then uphill a decent stretch. Once there, I thought the pools would be larger. It was crowded, but glad we did it.

Perfect. Gate was locked and I don't know if they plan to open it, but the road was very good and you don't need awd. Hwy 126 from Cuba on the other hand was nearly impassable when there was snow on it (4/13/22) as it's a dirt road with some deep ruts. Honda Pilot with allseasons - not good.

Wow. This place is absolutely amazing and beautiful. It is a five mile hike then straight up the hill. Don't forget another five miles back. Start early, pack a picnic or camp over night to fully enjoy this experience. Clothing optional. Not overly crowded because of the distance of the hike. This is definitely my new favorite place π

Went on Christmas Eve. Hiked in a short distance. So beautiful. It was handy to have hiking poles because of the ice near the hot spring. The earlier you go, the less people there will be. Some people chose to go nude. No bathrooms, no changing area. Most everyone changed under a towel. My recommendation: bring a plastic bag for wet clothes/swimsuit, bring dry clean underwear, bring water to drink, and if you have water shoes, that would be handy bc of all the little pebbles and snow you walk on.

That gate is closed for winter months I believe from November through February, that road is essentially inaccessible to most vehicles while there is snow or ice pack.
It's open year round.but this time of the year you have to hike in.gate will be close .get more info at Jemez red rock visitors center
Because it's literally nature? There's no office or anything before entering, but you could probably look up the Jemez Springs wilderness control or something and find a number
No camping is allowed at the springs or trailhead, but there are probably nearby options in the National Forest
Me and my husband has gone all times a year if the gate is closed its a 5.5 mile hike very easy if gates open then you only have to hike a half mile. Clothes are optional
The gate was open 11/11
The water is always warm. Hike depends on if they close the gate off 126 or not.
We've done it many times in winter. It's a 5 mile trek, we use cross country skis. You won't be alone especially on weekends.
