Riding on Island Explorer around the island with two bikes was wonderful, however you have to make sure to get one of the newer buses. The bike racks on the old buses are only designed for 26 inch tires and will gouge your frame because the J-hook that captures the front wheel is steel tubing with no end cover.

Free public transportation for in and around bar harbor. We did have trouble locating parking and couldn't find a lot to park and ride. This was very convenient

We used the island explorer to go everywhere for a 4 day stay. Really awesome free service and they are flexible enough to stop and pick you up even if you aren’t at a stop. We had great conversations with our drivers and the buses are also pet friendly which was very helpful.

Yes, but not on the bicycle express (the ones with the trailers for bikes), and the dogs must be on a leash
Sorry, but there is no service to the public on the island for rides around the island. There's public rides if tippy wanna go to Bangor or Ellsworth that's it..

Yes their busses have the ability to load wheel chairs.
Yes, bikes and dogs also. There is no fee, but you ate supposed to have a park pass. Never saw anybody checked while on the bus. If you drive in the park, they will ask.
