I've had the pleasure of utilizing this valuable island resource on several occasions! I work on a dolphin tour boat here locally & experience more encounters of wounded wildlife. The volunteers are quick to respond, but not available after hours. We had to transport a baby bird that was stranded out in the intercoastal, after 9 pm. Was openly greeted & welcomed by the gentlemen that owned the rescue & took extensive time to look over the bird & was extremely informative about the welfare of the bird. I could have listened to him for hours! He made us feel that we were not imposing or anything was too much trouble...highly recommend!

This is not a "tourist" place. This couple works really hard doing rescue and rehab of critters, mostly reptiles, snakes and turtles. They have taken in a snake and a turtle for us. They could always use donations for their efforts.

If you ha e never visited this place you really need to take the time out to do so. Currently they are closed to the public with the exception of rescued wildlife drop off but when they reopen their doors this is definitely one place you don't want to miss, they have really big tortoises right in the front yard that are just amazing to watch and enjoy right out front! Please also be kind as they run off of donations and hard working volunteers they really need donations to help keep the place up and going for years to come. So show some love when you drop by if you can. 💗

Awesome people. Very nice and knowledgeable. We found baby ducks and could not locate the parents. So we took them to this rescue and they will be well taken care of. The guy showed us around and we got to see all kinds of wildlife. A great place!

If they are somewhere safe, leave them alone and see if the mother comes back.
Call Wildlife Inc.
Yes there are racoons on the Island. If you found abandoned babies, you can call Wildlife Inc about what to do with them. Coyotes are on the Island also
