One of the most alive places im Cambridge, regardless the season and the hour. I love it so much, no matter how many times you go, you will always find something new

Crowded place near Harvard University. It’s ok to visit once in the while. A lot of various places for food and drink. Good luck finding parking though.

One of the prestigious institutions on planet earth. Went for a site visit on a weekend.

This is a great place to visit when on vacation in Boston. You have the campus on one side and so many great shops and restaurants to choose from all around. Easy connection via the red line which puts you right in the center of the action. Make sure to check out the Harvard Art Museum while you are there. There is a great independent bookstore to visit. Several great places to get a cup of coffee, Pavement Coffee, Tatte Bakery, Peet's just to name a few. Also keep your eye out for the random turkey walking down the street.

It's an area of Cambridge with a ton of Harvard University buildings and offices in very close proximity. It is densely populated by retail businesses and restaurants, has many historically interesting landmarks, and just about every Harvard University related photo op you'd want. There are tours of Harvard here, both official and satirical, and is centered around a large public transit station on the MBTA's Red Line that connects to at least a dozen bus lines.
if at all possible, taking the subway to Harvard square is the best! You don't have to worry about parking.
I think you would have fun just exploring. You can walk around the Yard without a ticket. And Google Maps will show the sites worth visiting.
That's great
Harvard Square is not a building, but the public space next to Harvard Yard and the Harvard Houses, the core of Harvard. There are lots of shops and restaurants.
There is a kiosk in the middle of the square...you cant miss it. They will have 2-3 guides hawking their tours. It's next to the News stand, next to subway B train entrance and in front of Starbucks...you can't miss it. I assume a tour leaves whenever they have enough people to make it work, I've seen groups assembling in that manner. If you are talking about a prospective student tour, you need to set that up in advance with the admissions. You can also find a map and wander around on your own. It is an awesome university...since 1636...only 16 years after the Mayflower landed!
