Saving Grace does an amazing job. I have two beautiful cats that I adopted from them 4 years ago. My kitties were part of the foster program that Saving Grace runs to give kittens who are too young for shelter life a chance to grow and be socialized so that they can be adopted. This is just one of the ways that they go the extra mile to get as many animals adopted as possible.

The staff at Saving Grace are wonderful! My in-laws senior dog took herself on a walk and ended up at Saving Grace, I was able to pick her up on the weekend and they were so nice and caring to her while she was there. I also adopted a cat from them recently, I was wanting a mouser and they helped me decide which cat would be a good fit for our family and had good hunting characteristics. Our Abby girl is a top notch mouser and also sweet. The adoption process was easy to understand and quick. I’m very satisfied with both experiences.

I worked in animal welfare and sheltering for 12 years. I have the privilege of working directly with the director of this shelter, Megan Gram. She leads a compassionate group of staff who make the very best (and sometimes toughest) decisions on behalf of the animals. They work around the clock, nights, weekends and holidays to help adopt and care for homeless pets in their community. Every community should be so lucky to have an organization like this. Consider volunteering, donating, visiting, and/or adopting from this wonderful group! They are professional, compassionate and the gold standard of animal adoption programs.

We had lost our cat of 9 years to kidney failure and knew we wanted to rescue a kitty to honor him. He was a farel kitten so we found another farel black kitten at Saving Grace. Megan Gram is a wonderful person with such a big heart for animals, so enstead of adopting through petco, which would have been cheaper, we wanted to support Saving Grace and all they do for community animals. If you didnt know, Saving Grace helps spay and nueter farel and lost animals in our community, every quarter. Theyve already altered houndreds of cats via TNR (trap, neuter, release) that helps keep local farel cat numbers down and slow the spread of diseases by vaccinated them as well. So we knew, as soon as we laid eyes on "Carls Jr." Now "Princess Tiabeanie" or "Bean" for short, that she was the one for us. Black kittens have a harder time being placed then colorful kittens, but to us, they seem to have a much calmer demeaner then say a red tabby or calico. She had a rough go at the beginning of her short little life with fighting off upper respitory infection, coccidia and ear mites. All common ailments in farel kittens, and Saving grace made sure their vet fixed her up before adopting her out. She came to us healthy and such a relaxed girl. She lives to snuggle and then play for short stints and then mow down on her tiki wet food and nap again. I couldnt have found a better baby to grow up with our pooches. We've had her for about a week now are totally in love. If you ever want to help Saving Grace but dont want to commit to an animal long term, you should try fostering. They are in dire need of fosters which help socialize animals in a normal house setting and help them get adopted quicker and are less likely to be returned. Thank you to everyone who helped us find Beanie, shes so very precious! Remember- Adopt dont shop!

They do have pictures of all adoptable pets.
Sorry to say Marc, you are wrong. Read up my friends on their website and FAQ. The do euthanize when they have to
Yes thank you! Tues-Sat between 9am and 7pm. We are so sorry for your loss.
Hello - currently the most affordable places for spay/neuter are For the Love of Paws and Umpqua Low Cost Veterinary - Saving Grace hopes to offer public spay/neuter again next year.
Yes you can ask to work with cats
Stray dogs are held for 72 hours in accordance with Oregon state law with the hope that they will be re-united with their owner. If the owner does not claim the pet, it is then evaluated for adoptability. If you have lost a dog, call Saving Grace immediately at 541-672-3907!
I recently got my cat from there and love her so much. She is very entertaining. Good luck hunting for a new fur baby.
My cat was taken in to Saving Grace by my parents because I decided to move out and they're mad about it.
My granddaughter is thirteen and going for orientation on the 7th of July.
That's wonderful! If your age is the barrier, until you get older you could consider reading to elderly people at a nursing home or in your neighborhood, or volunteering at FISH food pantry. If transportation is an issue, perhaps you could catch a ride with another volunteer going to the same place. If animals are your passion, consider making cat toys (catnip mice from scraps of cloth) or dog blanket for Saving Grace to sell in their Shelter's Gift Shop.
Hi Serafino - I am so sorry that we did not answer sooner. These notifications don't get sent to us right away. Typically the mother cat will come back, but if the kittens are cold to the touch or you know that Mom has been gone more than 12 hours or that she has been injured or killed, please bring them in. We are open until 7pm Tues - Sat. Thank you!
Very sparingly at the moment. We are working on hiring a part time veterinarian and a certified veterinary technician in order to start offering low cost surgeries for the public two days per week. We will make a big announcement when we are able to start offering this service!
Yes, one in July. Contact Saving Grace
We can take sheets and thin blankets - we only have regular sized washing machines so nothing that cannot fit in a regular washing machine. Thanks!
We like Revolution or Bravecto, both are by prescription only. Fleas seem to be building a resistance to everything else!
Yes! We do playgroups in house and we have a Fido Field Trip program which allows volunteers to take dogs out for the day. More info can be found on our website or by calling 672-3907 😊
Right now we are doing quarterly clinics that are either affordable ($25) or free depending on how much funding we get to host them. We have one this weekend but it's full and we will have another one in the spring - dates TBD. Keep an eye on our FB and website!
Hi Karen - at this time we do not, but you can check the prices at Umpqua Low Cost and For the Love of Paws. Umpqua Valley Humane Society will often times help with vouchers. We hope to have have our public spay/neuter program back up and running by early summer 2022. Good luck!
We just have animal caretakers on site periodically throughout the day when we are closed. We will be open tomorrow at noon.
Hi Carmella - right now we have an affordable public spay/neuter program where we can provide spays for $50. We could definitely help with a feral cat but she would need to be in a trap. You may want to just call our customer service team and see what we can work out for you. I know it's difficult to know when you will trap the cat! We are hoping to be able to provide more services for feral cats in the near future. Thanks for caring!
We have a beautiful grey staffordshire terrrier who is about 7-8 years old!
I suggest you call them
Yes! We appreciate donations of used but clean towels and blankets. You may drop them off Monday through Saturday, 9-5. Thank you!
No they're not free. U can buy them. IDK if they're free for foster home but u can always ask a staff member
Nothing i think. But it has been a couple of years since i had someone do that.
This happened to me because I owed some black fees and couldn't come up with almost for hundred dollars to pay fees but actually its buying back your loved one. The director said and I quote" you had five days and didn't pay your fees," Completely Heartless, I have two daughters 16 and 4 who are heartbroken because someone decided that animals were property rather than family. What a crock!!! My Smokey, who is a registered support animal was going to be adopted by a friend who Smokey knew very well cause I couldn't afford it, then after all the paperwork was done and the meet and great was done he was told to come back next day to pick him up. NOPE, that didn't happen because he was then told the following day on voicemail that Smokey was no longer adoptable because there was an incident. When I asked what happened I was told nothing but that he was moved to another shelter by the Director. It's not right and still dont know where he is. Hes scared needs to come home. Anyone??????
All our adoptable pets can be seen on our website www.savinggrace.info. Our website is updated throughout the day.
We have bottle drop bags available here at the shelter, or you can pick up our bags at Package Depot at 1224 Walnut St, Roseburg. Thanks for helping the animals! Every bag adds up!
You need to call saving Grace directly it's also good to make lost notices with a picture of dog and hang on bulletin boards in vet offices and by grocery stores also hand out to neighbors. Does she have a chip in her or a collar and what is her name will she come to people who call her or do you just want notified where she is so you can come get her. Leave .contact info on posters. Good luck
Our website has all the information about surrendering a pet and the fees involved. Please check the website at http://www.savinggrace.info/index.php/animals/surrendering-a-pet.
Best to call Saving Grace and Roseburg PD
We would be glad to receive your donation 9-5, Mon-Sat. Thank you for thinking of us! Our cats will appreciate it!
Don't think so.
Yes they do. They microchip them before they leave with their new families.
I have seen many dogs that can be trained as service dogs, mostly pit bull mixes, which, of course, you have to work with----even if you get one service dog certified, if animal is still aggressive, stores may ask them to leave. There are, often, mix mutts, you can go to the news review online and see some of dogs/cats offered, or pick up an Umpqua Shopper.
The news review posts adoptable pets go to their website if you font find online pics thru saving grace's site.
