I rented two units over a year ago. One large unit and one small unit. We then moved and cleared out the large unit only keeping the small one to store a few items. Everything was good until recently. We received an email stating that our credit card can longer be charged due to a lack of signature in the paperwork that was processed a year prior. So my card had been charged over a year without the signature yet all the sudden there was a urgency to get a signature. So I received an email to fill out paperwork to sign so my card could be charged. In the meantime my account was charged a late fee as well as I had been sent an email that my unit would be locked until a payment was received. My payment was late due to the lack of signature that they all the sudden couldn’t charge. Even though my card was charged an entire year without a signature. I tried calling the office and left a message to take care of this problem and did not receive a call back. So the next day after leaving the voice message I called again with no answer. I then had to drive down to the location to get the problem resolved in person. The girl at the counter was very rude and said this was cooperates fault and not her fault. I totally understand that cooperate can make changes but the customers shouldn’t be made to be inconvenienced as well as made to feel like it’s their fault for these changes. I understand that paperwork had not been signed and that human errors like this occur but the difficulty in trying to resolve the problem was ridiculous. I also was told after complaining that the late fee would be waved in which it was not after my payment was taken out. So now I just have to eat the cost or try to fight to get it back. Overall just a very bad experience and I will be canceling my unit.
