Did not call back when promised. Did not guarantee the first repair and subject to additional repair if the first repair did not work. $1,000 and then an additional 3,000 plus for repairs. I ended up selling my car for a very low price because I could not afford and open end of repairs. You take care of yourself but not your customer. Had to have it towed both ways.

Yes, a dealer is allowed to “take back” a vehicle (leased or financed) if the financing is denied. Almost assuredly the contract has a close stating something like “pending approved financing.” This may or may not be a dealer scam. It is called spot delivery or Yo-Yo-Financing. This scam occurs when the dealer knows the customer will not qualify for the financing but allows the customer to leave with the vehicle. This dealer knows it will need to call the customer later and demand they bring the vehicle back to the dealership. The dealer hopes the customer has become enamored with vehicle and will, therefore, agree to far more egregious terms. Such as needing to make a higher down payment or agree to a higher interest rate. Not all spot deliveries are a scam. But dealer F&I managers are professionals. They know what is required to get a customer qualified. Therefore it should be rare when a customer is asked to return the vehicle due to failed financing. When the customer is required to return to the dealership due to failed financing the chances the dealer played the “spot delivery scam” is quite high. If this happens the best response is often to return the vehicle and have the deal unwound. Then look for another dealer. They tried this on me.
