In the land of “phds and trees” aka pretentious Claremont, you cannot park on the street over night or you get slapped with a $35 ticket. Ok fine. Occasionally I forget to do the online exemption or move my car to the driveway. I’ve probably given the Claremont police department $200ish since I moved here. Now, they’ve raised the ticket price to $50. How is this protecting and serving? What are you protecting slapping citizens with this fine? Nothing. This is an extortion tactic used to fund their unnecessary NEW police department. I will continue voting against ANY measure that in any way benefits the Claremont Police Department. You’re gross and unamerican.

I`m black, have lived in Claremont, CA (NOT NH or Clairmont,CA "San Diego") for 14 yrs and have had 0 issue with the police. For the most part we live safely in this city enough to not even think of it and if problems come up they are usually from neighboring cities and people crossing through that don`t live here, other than that or the bar fight I saw ONCE.... I don`t think there would be any crime here ever.
