This was our second foray to Monterosso's. Both times the food was amazing, the service impeccable and the atmosphere charming. Would recommend this experience for anybody with the caveat that you understand what you're getting into. It is an antique dining car; there is not an overabundance of space, conversations carry. If you're looking for a private venue, look elsewhere. If you're looking for amazing food, the experience of eating in an antique dining car with very friendly and amazing staff, this is for you.

What a quaint experience. The atmosphere was really cool as this restaurant is located inside a train car. The food was very good, I had the cajun chicken special and I enjoyed it very much. The wait staff was timely and attentive to our needs.

Monterosso's is pretty okay. They don't have an online reservation system, so you need to call and leave a message or after 3:30. It's a tight space, antique train car, which is nice. The problem: many people who walk on board and turned away because they are booked up and these people have no choice, but to be in your personal dining space due to the the narrow walkway. They should put a sign outside letting people know reservation only, booked for the night to avoid this issue. The server took forever to bring out bread and the bread was very different from any Italian restaurant I have ever been to. They were out of the pork tenderloin on a Friday, which was disappointing. My daughter's entrée must have been waiting on the others because it came out luke warm. The rest of the food was good, but not exceptional. I don't think I will be back because the service was mediocre and because of the other annoyances.

We came here on a recommendation but won't be back as we were disappointed with the food. My wild mushroom capellini came out without the garlic, butter and wine sauce and they apologized and made me up some. The mushrooms and prawns were pretty bland. The tiramisu was delicious but a little frozen in the middle. The Bolognese had very little meat in the red sauce. The service from our server was great, but sometimes sparse - there was only one person working front of house. Might be a little more put together on the weekends.
