We did the celebrity home tours. Tour was overall sub standard. Guide kept pointing out things high on the hill and because we were in a vehicle with a roof, and were on the other side of tour bus we could never see them. For that matter, if you take the tour sit on the driver's side to the bus. Well over 80% of the things he pointed out were on that side so we never really saw them or were even able to take any pictures. Driver seemed to know his tour info well but really came of a bit snarky. Overall would not do a tour with this tour company again. If you do make sure its a open top tour bus and sit on the driver's side.

We really enjoyed the 2 hour Hollywood/celebrity homes tour. Alan the driver was knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining. Mulholland Drive was shut so he had to improvise and change the route, all of which he dealt with in a really up front and experienced way. All well organized and would recommend!

Kids wanted to see it all during Super Bowl weekend, so what better way (to avoid traffic and parking) then to sit back and ride the bus? I would first recommend arriving EARLY. We arrived at 9:45am, as they were open and the first bus left at 10AM from Hollywood Blvd. We did the “red” route first. We did get caught in traffic upon coming up on some attractions, but again plan to arrive early. We noticed when we got to the Rodeo Drive stop, the bus parked about 6 blocks away, so you technically never saw it, unless you got off the bus and walked over to it. Which we did, but it cost us in the end. Buses run every 45 minutes at each stop, so be very conscious of that. By the time we made it back to the pick up spot, we had to wait about 25 minutes for the next “red” bus. Now at that stop, other routes would pick up. We continued on our “red” tour. By the time we got back to Hollywood, it was about 4pm. We were ready to hop on another tour since the pass was good for an entire day. Nope…the last bus going to another tour had already left for the day. So we basically did 1 tour the entire day. Be mindful of the last pick up times, as you can be all the way down in Venice or Santa Monica and miss that last bus ride back. The business closes at 6PM. So ideally, for 8 hours, you have to do 1/2 red route, then catch a blue bus, to only come back to the same drop off, to get back on the red bus to Dinah out that tour. Do not make the mistake we did by getting off and touring on our own (things we wanted to see). Ask for discounts…Military, AAA, etc. They will not ask or tell you. If hot, please wear a hat, as the top of the buses are uncovered with no AC. Bring plenty of water. We opted for a AAA 1-day family pack for 4, at $125.

I have mixed feelings about these tours. For one, the Hollywood Red Tour was great. However, for the purple and the yellow tour, things were so messed up. The bus had audio issues and we could not hear much. Then, for the yellow tour, the guys failed to tell us where to board exactly, and the paper they handed us had outdated info. However, we drove all the way to Santa Monica Pier and found them but while we were standing at the bus, the driver drove past saying this wasn't the pick up spot. We missed the tour and had to go without it as we had to return to the airport. The timing of the buses are atrocious and not really as per the times listed which means you can't really hop on and off. How difficult is it to have an app with accurate info? There is a lot of anxiety and not much information provided if you skip a couple of spots and want to walk over to another one. Drivers can be nice or distracted. Overall, a waste of money.

This is a very good question, but you may need to find this information online. I'm not sure how the price is
The longest tour which would include the celeb homes is the Los Angeles city Homes and Beaches and leaves from Hollywood.
Hello, I took the longest tour of 2h and it did not include the view of the poster. I think they don't. I went by car and it is not possible to appreciate it only from the side, but I was already leaving the city, perhaps from a higher and more distant point it is possible. Perhaps you should ask specifically about that, I did not ask assuming that they would show you the most characteristic point of the city and it was not like that, you do not see the houses of the famous, they only show you the streets from an avenue ...
Sorry no Getty tour and Stars Homes. There is a transfer to Getty Museum from Santa Monica. Also take LIFT to Getty which will save you money. There is no admission charge.

President and owner Vahid Sapir, who was at the time an exchange student from Iran bought the company in the late 60s and built Starline to what it is today.
Alcatraz is in San Francisco bay not Los Angeles but there are boat trips to it running from Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco several times a day.
