Amazingly beautiful mountain. Perfect for getting out camping, hiking, or just driving around. Abundant wildlife all around. Take a trip up to La Mosca lookout and be amazed by the view!

Beautiful mountain! Amazing views! Great 4x4 roads and trails. Great hiking and camping. Overall loved my trip to Mt Taylor! I’d recommend it for day trips or overnight camping. There are free range cows out and about to just be aware. Also saw a bear so be sure to bring a bear canister or hang your food at night if you plan to camp. Enjoy!

Great hike destination with great views. Don't forget to sign the log book at the summit sign.

Pretty easy hike, the route i took at least. You can make it a 2 mile hike if you drive up most of the way up. This of course, requires that you have a vehicle for it; onez can drive all the way up to La Mosca lookout. While i hiked to the summit, you can pretty much drive any med-clearance vehicle 4x4 on FR 453 until about the last 1/2 from the peak. Where you'll find a downed tree and trail disappears into the forest. I'd rate the off road condition 7/10. Washboard dirt road leading up to FR453 at the end of FR547.
