I did not have a great experience with the manager but the animals there still deserve to be adopted so I recommend giving it a chance

Miserable worthless government types. People like these are a great example of why you should pay less taxes. Contra costa county is one of the wealthiest counties in california but theyll have you believe theres no money for anything and services are underfunded blah blah. This place should be investigated. The money laundering and county embezzling of funds should be looked at. All staff members should be turned into dog food and these people need to be replaced with a fresh crop of grads who give a flying you know what and are competent.

I loved to have visited this animal services. Staff are friendly and very nice place for animal shelter mostly dogs. My very first visit and easy to fill up adoption questionnaire paperwork. I adopted the German Shepherd mix that I saw online and still available and so wonderful that they let me take it home that day. Yesss I love it.

From the workers to the volunteers everyone was courteous, professional, and also friendly. Unparalleled customer service, If there were an option for 10 stars I would put it! We found our furever pup and are so excited!

Do I need money for shots? When can I come in to have shots for my dog?
Call them at 925-608-8400
They are open from Wednesday to Friday and close Saturday to Tuesday
Always!
The fees vary by animal and they often have special pricing around the holidays.
call Martinez pound
Martinez shelter and the arf foundation have plenty of choices of dogs that need good homes. I just got my new doggy this last tuesday. The staff at both places are great
My friend and her grandson was able to on Friday. I think they are closed on Mondays though.
I don't, you should give them a call!
You need to call the number or email them. They are really Great at responding. Good luck.
None that I know of, it's best a veteran handle the issue.
Try a local dog kennel, not animal control. They don't kennel your pets.
I had a medical Emergency for my dog and I am on a fixed income. ARF in Concord help me get treatment for my beloved furbaby. Hope this helps!
Try putting him on Facebook, pet finders, etc. Try the SPCA. Find a NO kill shelter.
The shelter opens at 10am (Tues thru Saturday 10am to 5pm, 7pm on Weds). Go claim your cat - bring proof of ownership (pics, vet bills, etc.).
Info is available on the contra costa animal Services website. https://www.contracosta.ca.gov/2678/Fees-and-Services
Try calling the contra costa animal shelter directly and ask to speak to someone. They are open till 7pm tonight (weds) and 5 pm Tues thru Sat.
Wildlife (raccoons, squirrels, birds, etc.) calls should go to Lindsey Wildlife Museum. The number to call is on their FB page and their website.
Call the police and animal services
I would call the main Animal Control Office and speak with someone there to find out.
Yes
Or, you can bring it to a vet. Tomorrow at the shelter will be busy as it is St. Pitty's day.
You have to call the spay/neuter clinic at the shelter and make an appointment. Call as soon as possible because I think there's a wait to get it done.
Hopefully he/she is microchipped.
I don't think CCAS does this for the public. You need to call your vet. I'm sorry about your doggie.
Unknown I would say choose a particular dog to have interest in and see what the interaction would be without adoption
Im so sorry to hear about your missing pet! Ive been looking for my cat as well and i know how hard it is. DONT WAIT to become as active as possible in your search! The Martinez shelter has an amazing team of volunteers ready to answer your questions, give you a tour, as well as advice. There are so many sites available online and im currently using more than a handful but i believe petharbor.com is a good start to see what cats have been turned into shelters in the area. NOTHING is better than going in personally because frightened cats can appear quite different in their pics! I recently found my lost boy cat and I wouldn't have recognized him by his photo...im SO glad i made the trip!! There's A LOT of things you can do to find your cat but a good 1st step is checking petharbor.com RIGHT AWAY & going in to the shelter & register your cat as lost ASAP on Monday (Martinez shelter is closed to the public Sunday/Monday) Good luck, i hope we both find our babies!
Animal Services does not declaw cats. Please research the pros and cons to declawing before you proceed with this type of procedure. Thank you
Here's the link to the Fees and Services. You can also give them a call to ask for more specific info (phn #s on their web and Social Media pages). http://www.co.contra-costa.ca.us/2678/Fees-and-Services
I am not sure you will need to ask at the desk or at the click next door
Call 925-608-8400 and talk to a clerk.
Tue-Sat 8-5 You can call 925-608-8400. Otherwise, sheriff dispatch receives those calls outside of hours.

Transferred to a rescue group... Good news!!!
You can go to your city's local ordinance website. It will be listed there. Concord allows 5 cats and 2 dogs, I think.
Try Walmart for a cat carrier. Always handy for taking to the vet for shots, etc.
