I would give this place 6 stars if I could. I feel like we ordered everything on the menu.

The first time I went to Zenbu I was REALLY into it. But I realize that place is a little inconsistent. I have been three times in total so not that much data. BUT I would recommend their green beans and tofu dish, Sellwood roll, and wontons. The first couple times I had their salmon nigiri, I was INTO IT. The fish was the perfect temperature. The last time I went, the rice was a little hard. Overall, this place is good and I will continue to go. Just a little inconsistent with how the food tastes. Definitely get there early because they do sell out of stuff.

This review comes with mixed feelings and i'm sorry to the owner. But we came (me and my partner) in hopes for good sushi and drinks close to home. (we live in happy valley) I will say that the food was amazing!!!!! drinks were good. But maybe we made the mistake of sitting at the bar. We are a queer couple surrounded by straight caucasian couples. The level of attention they got, we did not get. I am very passive, compared to my partner and this time, i sadly notice. They asked all the questions to the couples around us, and I had to ask for multiple things. Not once was I asked if my food was good (like the rest), if we needed anything else. We were brought our check after 2 drinks, and she didn't do this to anybody else. I started this review with 4 stars, because I refused to see everybody this way. But I believe the front staff is a representation of the back. I'll continue to wait over an hour for a downtown portland location.

I have to say I've passed by this little gem that's nestled so well into the neighborhood many times, it's easy to miss but A MUST TRY for sure!! From the peaceful outside seating with water feature backgrounds to the beautiful ambiance inside, this place feels so welcoming and upscale cozy, if you know what I mean! We tried out the majority of the happy hour menu. The green beans and California rolls are hands down the best I've ever had. Everything we tried on the menu was delicious and the prices are super typical for happy hour. The rest of the menu appeared to be pretty affordable as well. Can't wait to go back!!

Yes, they have happy hour.
No age limit! Unless your at the bar. Families go there on the regular. But it's small, so don't take a huge group without a heads-up.
2-5 & 9-11 & all day Sunday. The menu is limited and the only sushi options are a spicy tuna roll and California roll. Gyoza and other items are available. Purchase of beverage required and there are quite a few discounted drinks.
