What a little hidden gem. Only open during late spring and summer. 9 to 5. Enthusiastic volunteers and rangers willing to be of help. They do a very nice guided tour of the ruins at the great house. The view from the top amazing. 360's There is a nice short paved path with views, ruins and good explain signs. You need about 3 hours for you visit. Bring you hat, water and sun screen very exposed.

A great place of historical importance as many writers in the first half of ninteenth century have mentioned about this Chimney Rock in their travel diary during their westward expedition. However, there are signboards warning about abundance of rattle snakes. That says about the lack of maintenance of this place. Moreover, I went there to on Sunday (27 Dec 2021) at 2-30 and the museum was closed. That's the reason I have given 3 stars to this place despite the historical importance of this place.

I'm very happy I made this stop while I was on my way to another point of interest. I learned some very cool information about this place and it was a moderately hard hike that leads you to the Chimney Rock Monument. The views at the top are breathtaking! All the staff was friendly and very informative. Really enjoyed this experience.

A great place to explore! I visited for the guided night sky tour. We gathered around a projector until it was dark and then observed constellations and stars. The light of some of which reaching us after they are actually already 'dead'.
