I decided to edit my review after working here for a few years now. Your pay is activity based pay. You are not paid hourly. If you work weekends you get 3 dollars more per load and 5 cents more for mile which is 45 cents per mile and 35 for drop and hook. Live load unloads pay 51 detention after 1.5 hours at $15 for 1st hour and 20 after. You can make decent money working night shift since there is no traffic but need to learn the rail and local traffic. Daytime makes no money when it's slow. Too much traffic in the day plus live loads. Your pay is also dependent on dispatchers doing their job which is frustrating at times since new dms are always put nighttime and weekend ls. It's also based on how the planner plans you and there is bias. I know since we drivers talk about our weekly pay and loads. Some drivers are planned way better than others and get more work. Good company to get experience from but of you want to work daytime, I'd suggest an hourly paid company. If you get stuck in construction or held back by an accident, you are working for free at that time. Mechanical breakdown is 15 the hour if you get a flat. You have to keep track of the times and dms check the exceptions and at times make it a headache to get paid for certain things. You get assigned a truck but sometimes your slip seat partner does more than 12 hours and you have to deal with getting another truck. Pre trips and fueling isn't paid either. I think I covered most of the important stuff and gave a decent picture of our pay which most people dont post or isn't easy to find by the company either. They just throw yearly salary you can make up to which is based on drivers that have been there for years and know what they are doing. You accrue 2 to 3 hours per week of paid time off. You need 8 hours to get anyday off otherwise you get written up. They give you 7 freebies for the year. Our system goes down a lot and you cant get dispatched or planned at times mostly during the weekend but sometimes randomly during the week.

Very professional. My background was researched and approved by mid-morning on 1st day of orientation. Had to redo D.O.T. physical and now have to do a sleep study because the Doctor appears to have a problem with Truckers but that's no reflection on JB Hunt. They will run you as hard as you want. Weekly pay. Office staff is accommodating to a point and very understanding. They treat you like a responsible adult. DM has a sense of humor and knows her job very well.
