Don’t order the pretzel. It took 20 minutes, and I’d say it was the worst pretzel I’ve ever had… but it wasn’t even a pretzel. I’m not sure how pretzels are made, but I’m sure they don’t do it right. Instead of a smooth, golden, almost leathery crust with a chewy interior, this was literally an overbaked dinner roll in the shape of a pretzel.

We went skiing at Alta this past weekend and ended the day at Goldminer's Daughter's Lodge for some drinks and food. The food was cold and below average...thankfully the beer couldn't be messed up and was fine. However the bartenders could LITERALLY not hate their job more and trust me it showed on their faces, in their mannerisms, their body language, everything. James Alaska was not only rude to every single customer I saw/heard order from him, but you could just see it on his face how much he hated, I don't know, his life apparently?? We ordered a pitcher of beer and asked for 4 cups. James gave us the pitcher and no cups so we asked a second time for 4 cups...he proceeds to ignore us so we just grab 4 coffee cups that are close to the bar. That gets James's attention and he responds "Don't reach over the bar again," and proceeds to hand us the 4 beer cups we had to ask for twice. The lounge was a few minutes away from closing and instead of nicely asking me to close out my bar tab, Veronica (another bartender who appeared to hate life) stated "We need to close you out. If you don't want to close out, I'll just add 20% tip on this and leave the card up here." Um....excuse me?! LOL They REALLY know how to get good tips, right? Anyways....I truly do feel bad they hate their lives or maybe just job as much as they do but I hope the establishment is able to find better employees in the future. Best of luck to you guys!

Great slope side place to stay. Price includes lodging, a full service breakfast and dinner. Great staff. Recently remodeled. I wouldn't stay anywhere else at Alta. January 2022 update. Same great service. Under new management. Dinner is at least temporarily buffet. Food is very good. Had a group of 24, 12 children, 6 to18. Buffet worked much better than table service would have. I'll be back.

A gem for making family memories. It's not fancy, but you're paying for incredible convenience, location, and plenty of food. Logistics when skiing can be tricky, but not here. Basically Ski-in/ski-out (20 steps from lift). Easy storage for gear + laundry. Some rooms updated/some not, all are very clean with updated linens. Staff is helpful and accommodating. Bfast buffet and 4-course meal for dinner. Several gathering spaces: Saloon, lobby, rec room . . . Everyone slept well after skiing hard and eating well. We're ready to make this a tradition!
