We visited here to obtain two permits for members of our travelling party to wear high heels. It is a pleasant and quick procedure for such a permit to be issued (at no cost) and you then have a pleasant souvenir of the seaside town. Two hour street parking at the door.

I find it amazing that Carmel has a non smoking beach and beach sidewalk but has absolutely ZERO police enforcement of same ie handing out citations? when do the Lung patients and non smoking visitors and citizens get a break from this minority thinking they have the right to pollute the air hundreds of feet downwind with Cigars(prevalent at sun set near the water) or cigarettes(at the 6th and scenic beach entrance) all along the pathways and beach!.. Make the non smoking signs a LOT larger and easier for these idiots to see and start handing out citations and actually enforcing the law!!.. carmel gets a 1 star rating till this issue starts being addressed by the Carmel PD and the city council!! a non smoking local!(and lung patient).
