Its been some time since I've been there but it was beautiful, very memorable. Lots of ground to cover so bring walking shoes and if you have little ones a stroller or be prepared to stop a lot or be willing to carry. It was peaceful. There is parking but you gotta pay which is t bad. I guess an alternative would be to park in the no charge parking and walk there. The views are breathtaking. Am planning on going back.

Wonderful place for people of all ages. I hoped to see some water fowl like herons or egrets, but only turtles and squirrels and lots of pretty dragonflies. Oh and a few lizards.

I love this Nature Center, easy 1-2 mile loops with so much greenery and cover for shade. Free to enter and cheap parking. A great way to spend a couple hours immersed in nature.

Great place, quiet and terrific trails and nature hikes. Saw all kinds of critters. Lots of shade along the trails and benches for resting, maybe bring water if it is hot. 103 acres of raw nature, saw lizards, birds, butterfiles, turtles, bees. Good place to just get away from the city without leaving the city.

A co worker and I got a turtle out of a garbage bin once. I brought it to the Nature Center. They said no way. Their turtles are a specific type and introducing other animals could bring diseases. They gave me the number to the " Turtle Lady ". A lady who loves turtles in the Los Altos area and she took it.
Not here, but at the park yes.. My brother and his wife had pictures done there.
No, entrance is free but parking is $5. I usually park along spring street across from el dorado park east in the housing. El dorado park east also has free parking by the basketball courts/skate park. Its just a bit more walking than parking in the housing track.
Yes
You can, if is a support dog, we take ours all the time, he's a small dog.
To clarify and add to vve_are_138, it's $7 per vehicle, but it's free to for everyone walking into the nature center.
Food is not allowed in the nature center or on the trails. In the general park it is allowed.
Best bet is to call first. Service animal should be ok but a "comfort" animal...please...
I would call them directly if I were you.
Sorry to hear that. Haven't personally had any problems there. Lock all valuables in trunk.
No, only at the dog park.
No camping is not allowed at this park.
The park opens to a small lake. I have seen Canadian geese, loons, and herons in the area at this time. The lake has many good vantage points. Park staff/rangers also have a board of bird sightings in the park, and the staff is very approachable. Have fun, and good luck!
I didn't see an area suitable, but there's a museum there at the entrance . You should call to be sure.
Yes, you can.
5 pm
Not in the Nature center walk. But there's a dog park section across Spring.
It's never truly crowded.
Only the third weekend in july when they sponsor the overnight catfish tournament
There is a fee for parking that varies between $5-$7 depending on the day of the week. That is cash only. There is no additional entrance fee once parking has been paid.
Walking
Eldorado Nature Center is open from 8AM-5PM six days a week. It is closed on Mondays.
Only parking. Drinks & snacks ok. No picnics. Do not feed the animals. Seriously.
1 & 2 mile trail. Light to moderate inclines with mostly level terrain. Bring water.
In the nature center gift shop. Park employees are very nice.
Professional photo shoots require permission and a permit. Props are not allowed. Casual photographs of the animals is permitted.
It'll be open but to be safe, call before you go.
Fishing is forbidden in the lakes within the Nature Center. There is quite a variety of fish living in the lakes. You can occasionally catch an Egret or Heron catch their dinner from the lakes within the Nature Center. Very interesting to watch.
Dog are only allowed in the Regional Park side, not the Nature center side.
No. They don't allow any kind of fires in the park that i know of.
