Ganter Nursery never disappoints. The most knowledgeable people, friendly and a beautiful nursery off Gopher Canyon that has been around since the early 1970s. Every plant we purchased there thrives. Love the owner, Manny and he’s fun to talk to. Today I purchased some Lantana for my slope and some Bacopa for around the air conditioner. A few months ago purchased these Trumpet Vines and they are already vining around the fence. The Sweet Peas are also thriving. Quality plants.

Having been to nearly every nursery in the area, I was surprised to learn of Ganter, one I'd never been to. Barely 15 minutes from my house, I happened to be on the search for a particular type of rose and while Walter Andersen, Green Thumb, El Plantio all came up empty, Ganter told me they had plenty on stock. Visiting the same day, I was impressed by the way the relatively small nursery still manages to have a very broad selection. It is bareroot season, and all their fruit trees come already potted. All their roses as well, in full 5G pots. They also had a selection of produce starters, flowers, all at very reasonable prices, and an impressive range of succulents. Overall their prices are competitive. There was an entire huge second part to the nursery that we simply didn't have time to visit, but hopefully we will soon. It's easy to find, much more wheelchair friendly than many other nurseries, and seems to be just a mellow nursery that's a bit of a hidden treasure in the most fertile part of Vista. Definitely stop by sometime if you can... But don't tell too many people about it ;-) Hoping they are in business for many, many more years to come!

One of the best nurseries in the San Diego area. Beautiful , healthy plants and an extremely wonderful selection. One of my favorites for sure. If you are around the area be sure to give them a visit:) .

This place strikes the balance between professional Gardener supply and DIY'er go-to. They offer a wide variety of plants that thrive in the area and their staff is very knowledgeable. Prices are reasonable; will return over and over.

Yes it is. We just went in December.
No they do not sell butterflies or caterpillars. But they do sell plants that attract butterflies to your garden. Such as butterfly bushes that come in several colors from white to several shades of purple and pinks . Butterfly flowers that attract the Monarch butterflies and they will lay eggs on these plants....the most beautiful caterpillars will appear, followed by dozens of chrysalis! Ask for Jose who is very helpful, or the owner Manuel.
