I absolutely love working for this company. From the interview through, the energy and kindness has been consistent. I'm a single mother or 2, I go to school and have two jobs. 24hr care has been so understanding and flexible. Being in this situation, it means so much when your company has your back too. Caring for people is what I love. Being placed with these clients, they becomes like family. Flexible hours, extra incentives, many shifts. Its been a wonderful experience for me.

We hired 24 Hour Home Care to provide round the clock caregiving for my dad after his partial hip replacement. We interviewed three different companies and chose 24 hour for several reasons - they were personable, seemed qualified, and they offered a discount to Kaiser patients. The care was okay overall (I won't address the issues we had with care in this review), but I was not at all happy with their transparency about billing rates. Not only did they overcharge my mom the entire first month by not invoking the Kaiser discount, but they also did not inform her she would be paying time-and-a-half for all hours beyond an 8-hour shift. That amounted to 6 hours of overtime each day. The sales rep quoted us an hourly rate for 12 hours shifts, and even wrote down the hourly rate on the paperwork he left with us, with no mention of time-and-a-half. When he sat down to have my mother sign the contract he did not mention the OT she would be charged on a daily basis. I will point out he did tell her she would be charged time-and-a-half for holidays. So I'm not sure why he felt it was not important to tell her she'd be paying time-and-a-half EVERY SINGLE SHIFT. Inexcusable in my opinion. Lastly, when I discovered this a few months later, after I had returned home (out of state), I emailed the sales rep and received no response. My father had round the clock care for several months which was very expensive. We should have been told exactly what the billing rates would be.

I think everyone will agree, finding a caregiver for a loved one is certainly no easy task, and once a decision is made there is much worry that goes along with it. This has been the first time my husband and I have had to delve into the "caregiving business" and, thank heavens, this has ended up being a very positive experience. We have two elderly "cousins" that needed immediate care: He has advancing cancer and she has Alzheimer's. It is our aim to keep them at home as long as we possibly can. 24Hr. Home Care was referred to us by "A Place for Mom," along with a few other providers. After meeting with all, It was very apparent from the well polished and professional presentation by Jackie Paras, how far superior 24Hr. Home Care appeared to be versus the other three companies. We decided to give them a try. "Diana" was assigned to our case right away and we met with her and Jackie together with our "cousins". All felt good, and everyone agreed Diana would begin right away. All I can say at this point in time, and it's been two months now, is that Diana is the BEST thing that has happened to this family in quite a while! She absolutely knows and understands the requirements and needs of our cousins. She's a great cook and has been so instrumental in improving their general health, hygiene, and daily routines. We have been singing Diana's praises for quite a while now and I feel confident things will continue on this note. She has been a blessing to our family....we owe much thanks to Jackie and 24Hr. Home Care!
