Beautiful place. Not much parking. I am concerned that the water has no way to get Oxygenated. Will probably end up like Cannonsburg dam. Foam all over the place because of lack of oxygen. There are so many trees around that the water is very calm. I didn't notice any water movement at all.

Cute little area and will definitely be back to explore more! They have a few benches and picnic tables and a few trails. We went recently to take prom pictures and it made a beautiful backdrop. Note - there is limited parking. You may have to park at one of the mini lots and walk down the road, but it's not a far walk.

Peters Lake Park is one of my favorite local parks. Located in Peters Township, Washington County, the park features a large lake with hiking trails around it. The trails go through woods and cross wooden bridges built as a result of Eagle Scout projects. Fishing and kayaking are favorite pasttimes here. In the winter, you might even see people ice fishing or ice skating. This place is a gem any time of year!

So, was down in Canonsburg for my son's lacrosse thing. Of course, being the dog mom I am, the pooches came with. Dropped my son off and looked for something to do with the dogs. Simply Googled "where to walk dogs near me" and Peters Lake Park was the closest. So we headed out. Easy, hardly any traffic, kind of drive. The map said it was close but I was in the middle of a neighborhood. Kept following directions and got to the park entrance. Unless you know where to go, not sure you'd just happen across it. Plenty of parking. Got out and we started our walk. The well-kept path / road takes you back into some woods but runs parallel with the lake. There were a ton of dogs and people fishing, everything was clean. But what totally surprised me is how nice everyone was. Everyone I came across said hi, asked about the girls, let their dogs say hi to mine. It was really nice to chit chat and not get any weird looks for being nice. I believe the path goes all the way around the lake. However, it was getting warm and the girls needed to cool down. Have to say I was really happy I went.

I was told that dogs had to "always" be leashed. It would be rather hard for a dog to swim on a leash but not impossible. I wouldn't want you to head out for a good time only to be fined
Sorry no motors allowed dont know we about trolling motor
The lake over by Waterdam Plaza/Donaldson's Crossroads might be a better option for night fishing.
The park is closed at night
1.6 miles. Of that, .7 is asphalt roadway or gravel path and the remainder from North Spring Valley Rd going west back to Center Church is dirt or mud depending on recent precipitation. About a 35 minute walk if you ignore your surroundings..longer if you take time to appreciate nature.
Is paddle boarding allowed? If so, are there any rentals in the area?
