Hell yeah buddy, these guys know whats up! This was recommended to us by a long time San Diego friend and it did not disappoint. Trust them on the specials, those were some of our favorites. The nigiri is innovative and fresh. Also do yourself a favor and add the sweet potato roll, crunchy surprise delight.

This is a very solid and seemingly popular sushi spot. Even though I didn't try any of them, the daily special appetizers were pretty unique and sounded delicious. The sushi menu is specialized; it's small compared to most sushi spots, but they use unique garnishes/sauces and flavors your might not see at your typical place. Even the aromas of the restaurant were unlike any other sushi place I've dined at (in a good way)! The Hedgehog was excellent and more than one server said it's their favorite roll; the subtle crunch, sprinkled with salt and garlic.. I'll remember that for a while! The Green Lantern and salmon nigiri were both solid and high-quality, but I expected a touch more excitement based on their descriptions. Wrench and Rodent mixes culinary genius with fresh coastal seafood and skillful preparation. Despite the Friday crowd, service was extremely fast. Thumbs up from me!

My favorite restaurant in Oceanside and there is a growing list of amazing spots in this town. Spectacular seafood and a good mix of veg/vegan options. Try the omikase for full fireworks (available in seafood or vegan menu) or any of the nightly specials. Taste, creativity, detail everything is amazing. If you haven’t eaten here yet, your taste buds would argue its criminal.

I came here after reading that this place was the #1 sushi restaurant to check out in San Diego County. Boy, this place's sushi has some really nice cuts of fish. All the rolls we had were fabulous. I indulged in an omakase meal or "currated course meal" made by the chef. Absolutely best decision I could have made. The chef changed my mind about tapenade (I hate olives) and uni (my last experience with urchin wasn't so great). The sushi here is on a whole other level. Thank you for the great meal! (I finished it off with carrot taro cheesecake. The candied persimmons to garnish were divine!)
