It seems "family friendly" means don't bother attending if you're gay. I attended worship and it was simple and very nice, so I filled out the info card for new people. I asked to meet Pastor Matt. We met at Starbucks on Thursday afternoon before Easter. I shared personal details with him, including that I am a lesbian. He invited me to the Grove's Easter events. I promised to attend that evening's get-together and went home. An hour later Pastor Matt called me and gave a nervous, prepared-sounding speech about how we all need a group to worship with and he didn't want me to feel uncomfortable. At first I was confused but then I got it and asked him if he wanted me to worship elsewhere. He offered a referral, sounding very relieved. Apparently he does not know his own congregation, as my roommate recommended I try it because there are openly gay people active in the church.
