Called to report that 2 of my vehicles had been broken into and all of my tools stolen. The dispatcher was very polite and the deputy that showed up was awesome. But after the fact, I received a letter with the case number and the detectives name who was assigned to the case. When I found a picture on our Ring of a possible person of interest, I called the detectives number with no answer. I left a voicemail and got no call back. I tried again the following day, and got the same thing, voice mail with no response. I tried 2 more times in following days and just hung up when it went to voicemail. Why assign someone to a case if they are never gonna be available or return phone calls. I realize they are probably very busy, but some kind of response or communication would be great.

I placed a police report for identity theft with CSO Esquer. He was polite and courteous taking my information down. A week later I come in to get a copy of the police report which was fast and easy. Thank you RSD office for your service.

I've called to report child abuse and ask for a child welfare check twice. Both times, dispatch told me an officer would be sent out. Neither time did one come. I don't understand why a citizen concerned for infant children would be ignored. The only reason I can think of is my neighborhood is considered "the ghetto," which is only code for black people live here.

My call was answered promptly and politely. An officer was sent to address the issue in a timely matter. The problem dealt with. I am very happy with the sheriff department each time I've called, my purse was stolen out of my car in my garage, my mail stolen and identity theft resulted (they caught and jailed the culprits). I feel confident this newest problem will be taken care of by our sheriff department.
