A beautiful garden with many tropical plants. Most of the plants are imported from tropical Asian countries. There are 50 different varieties of mango trees, pineapple trees and avocado trees!

Really enjoyed my visit to the Kampong today! Beautiful variety of plants, sweet & helpful people working there, and lots of benches to let you sit & enjoy the view! I will definitely return! FYI: You have to reserve a time in advance (easy to book on their website) and then you’ll get information on entering the gated garden at your time slot. The reservation system keeps the place less crowded than many nearby attractions. Note: Be prepared to walk off trails and in dirt/grass so dont wear your favorite white shoes!

Great place to meander amongst exotic plants for a couple hours. Check their website for admission fee cost. You have to use the call box at the gate once you arrive.

A slice of lush tropical jungle hides in Coconut Grove where it feels like a privilege as the red gates open to a long driveway to the main house. They have almost every tropical plant you can imagine and then some surrounding the house. My favorite sites were the pool and The Point, featuring a solitary palm tree and a balinese bench overlooking the water and surrounded by mangroves while the neighbors have neutered their land to build boat docks. The gardens are a peaceful hideaway amidst the highrise Miami landscape. I do wish the guided tours were available because there is probably a better story about the property than the gigantic self-guided flyer. It was cumbersome to flip back and forth between the site map and the numbered locations that I discarded its use after 10 minutes.

It's On the national register of historic places and belongs to National Tropical Botanical Garden, a non profit org based in Hawaii.
Melanie, We are closed on Sundays so that the employees may spend time with their families, which is very important to our organization. Mondays and Tuesdays the administrative office is open but the garden is closed for guests so that we can perform the bigger garden maintenance jobs with large machinery. We strive for our guests to have the most enjoyable and serene garden experience possible and for this reason we are closed on the heavy maintenance days.
