Very nice museum. Had lots of artifacts and information on the wars and the Nez Perce Indians.

What a gem of a local museum! So much history and such a tiny place. Excellent scavenger hunts available for children, very generous prizes. The volunteers were very friendly, went out of their way to make us feel welcome and answer any questions we had. An extensive treasure trove of historical memorabilia. Definitely worth a stop if you were driving through, far better than the Louis and Clark experience at the local state park. Also worth noting definitely worth a visit to the Nez Perce National Historic Site about 20 minutes from this museum.

The ladies there were so tremendously helpful and nice. I took my children there on a Saturday, they answered a lot of our questions and made recommendations of other sites or museums to visit. They were knowledgeable with the area and were very patient. A must see!!!

I enjoyed my visit very much. Met a couple of gentlemen there who provided a lot of additional history of Lewiston. Only disappointment was the outside buildings were not available to tour. I also got several pamphlets on area attractions

Father Cataldo. He founded the mission and in 1874 built the church on land donated by Chief Slickpoo.

The photo on the calendar cover is from 6th & Bryden. The Isamans lived on the NW corner. The Bairds lived on the NE corner. The RG Baileys lived on the SE corner and the Frank Ganos lived on the SW corner. Which property was in the photo?
