Slow as usual, especially for a walk-in, but nothing unmanageable. They have snack and drink vendors if you're there for too long. The clerks were quick, thorough, and friendly enough considering how packed it was. Still, don't expect to be in and out quickly.

This was the most unbelievable experience with a DMV in my entire life. I have been and will remain an out of state driver. Not being familiar with WA driver's licensing procedures I asked questions, immediately I could not get my questions answered by "Him" window 7. I stated clearly that my out of state license had a Restriction for vision, "He" states a diagnosis for vision that I was unqualified to understand, he behaved as if I knew the diagnosis. I did not. I repeated myself, that in my state I am required to wear glasses when driving! Then he started asking me about my medicine, I said I took medicine for a current cough. The whole time I asked questions he acted as if he couldn't be bothered with my questions, he didn't answer me at all. He was rude, short with me but this is the way it's done in Washington. I will remain in my own state. Out of his own mood he gave me A doctors test for vision and mental acuity for a Washington drivers license..I let him know what I thought.

Came here to renew my license and it was a quick, easy and pleasent experience. As of May 2022, you need to schedule an appointment online, which is very easy. Lots of the services can now be done online which is encouraged. You can walk in if time permits (till 4:30), but those with appointments will have priority. Someone greets you outside and I had less than 5 minute wait till my number was called.

Super fast and efficient! I’m so used to being at the DMV for hours but my partner and I were here for around 30 minutes! The person that helped was also super informative and gave us advice when preparing to pay for the fees. Would definitely come here again!

Oh thank you I’m coming from Mississippi and I was wondering what it cost to switch over to.
Expect $54 if you have a regular license. $10 late fee applies after 60days.
If you just need to renew your license you dont need to bring anything other than cash with you. They will have everything on file.
That's the truth.
I think you have to have a valid permit in order to get a licenses.

What are your cross streets and is it for a regular driver's license or a commercial driver's license? If you are in Phoenix you can go to any motor vehicle division for both your license and your van. There is one at N 51st Ave and W Indian School Rd. If it is for a commercial driver's license you need to go to the CDL office off W VanBuren Ave just W of Litchfield Rd and go to the regular MVD for the van which I mentioned the location above.
You get the permit issued here. But you have to test at one of the area driving schools. DOL doesn't do testing for license/permits.
You will need to visit a vehicle licensing agent not driver licensing.
