Been here a few times over the years. Glad its still around. Lovely large country restaurant and bakery. Staff is friendly, food is good. We come here for the bakery. Hubby loves rye. We visit the museum to see his great great grandfather then stop for a meal. Lots of outdoor benches to relax on.

Not sure how this place made 100 years as far as 🍞 bread making goes. I got Pumpernickel (left) and Sourdough loaves. I thought I was eating Wonder Bread! Pumpernickel is a dark rye, not this. Sourdough was mediocre at best. One loaf marked 100% Wheat not whole grain. All wheat bread is 100% wheat 🌾 as far as I know. No whole grain offered. Peanut butter cookies nothing to write home about either. We gave the bread away rather than feeding the birds. Big selection of other baked 🧁🎂 sweets but didn't try them. Looked good though.

Small town feel, lots of cool historic documents and pieces on the dining area. The bakery goods were delicious. Will be back for sure.

I was introduced to this place by the members of a car club to which I belong. The first time I ate here, I was impressed by the food. It was generous in proportion, tasty and served by nice people. I had read about their baked goods so I took a couple of boxes home to the family. I liked their food so much that I drove 45 minutes the next morning to bring my family so that they could experience the food at Black Diamond. This rating should be 5 starts and I will say that it is at 4.5 right now. The only issues that I had are: 1. We stood waiting to be seated for some time before we were noticed and addressed. 2. There seems to be a hierarchy where only some staff are allowed to take your orders, which is fine. The only thing is that we couldn't tell who belonged to which group. In my book small things, but I have to be honest. Now, the good stuff. The staff are generally friendly, smiling and BUSY! Our timing was perfect when we went but I could easily see a wait for a table if you came at the wrong time. And why would that happen? because the food is amazing! Simply amazing. Two days in a row I had the hearty breakfast two eggs, a large sausage patty, potatoes and two biscuits with sausage gravy! Are you kidding me? All breakfasts come with a half a peach in syrup and a small muffin. And everything was so good, I ate it all! My dining companions had the eggs benedict and an omelet that was as big as the large plate it came in. And someone had the chicken fried steak, which I will have next time. Everyone had nothing but compliments on the food. I understand that most of their items are made from scratch onsite. Oh, you HAVE to try the bacon. This is how bacon SHOULD be. Of course, after all that food, we had to ask for boxes. And still had to stop by the bakery to take items home. If I were to recommend a few items to go, they would be the eclairs, the cherry danish AND the and lemon danish, the cinnamon rolls (still have half a dozen apple ones frozen in case of emergencies) and the XL chocolate chip cookies! Truth be told, I would also recommend wearing sweatpants so that you can loosen the drawstrings after the meal! Best of all, they serve breakfast until 2 pm! Writing all this down has made me want to go down there again! Hmmmm, now when can I go again?
