I pass through Portsmouth a couple times a year and if there is only time for one stop this is the one I make. The food is awesome, the atmosphere unique, and the staff friendly. If you could only ever eat at one place in the whole city you couldn't go wrong with Ceres

I love Ceres Bakery!! The lunch special is convenient, reasonably priced and always delicious. I love the variety. If the special isn't something I want, they also have quiches, soups, salads, and sandwiches - all great choices, you can't go wrong. I end up going here twice a week these days because it's the best lunch stop in town, especially for the price. The baked goods, be they sweets or breads, are fantastic; I've tried something new every time and always been satisfied. The scones here are better than any other scone I've found in a bakery. On top of all of this, the cafe is very cute. I'd give this place 6 stars if I could. I can't get enough of it!

I enjoyed a rasberry croissant with their homade iced tea for breakfast and I enjoyed every bite. The iced tea has some herb in it I think it is mint so if you don't like herbal teas that may not be for you. The service was great and there was no wait you do have to wear a mask inside the store.
