We got there a little early and sit in the car and watched the rabbits. When we finally went in we had counted 7 rabbits. We love the wildlife around the outside. The view from the table was breath taking. We had the following items: The Grilled Romaine and the Crab dip. Both were very good. For dinner I had the Cast iron shrimp and grits it was delicious. My husband had the Wood oven roasted chicken. It was moist and very tasty. The son had a Bacon wrapped filet with the twice baked potato. He said, it was cooked just right. For dessert we had the homemade ice cream with an orange macaroon and a pastacio macaroon. Incredible! Loved the Creme Burlee. Will differently be going back again.

Paper Canoe is the best restaurant in the Outer Banks bar none. We visit nearly every time we're in the area (10+ years of vacationing here) and we've never had bad food, drinks, or hospitality. The restaurant is perfectly quaint and cozy. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. And the food is some of the best my family has ever eaten. Seats in the bar area offer a picturesque view of sunsets over the Pamlico Sound. Order the shrimp and grits and a canoe 75, you won't regret it! Special thank you to the host staff and server, Brad, for another great evening at Paper Canoe. See you next year!

My husband and I came to the Outer Banks from New York to celebrate our 30th Anniversary. We were so lucky to choose the Paper Canoe for our special occasion. The hostess was so welcoming and the staff could not have been better. It's really hard to say which appetizer or entrée we liked best, they were all so impressive. Wine and drinks were spot on and the desserts were incredible. The ambiance is casual but it has a tranquil vibe with such a nice elegant touch. Every table was full but our meals flowed seamlessly with such beautiful presentations. It's obvious the kitchen has a lot of experience and creativity. We cannot wait to get back. Did I mention the sunset and outdoor deck overlooking the sound? Have a glass of wine and enjoy!! Wish I had more pics.

It's pricey but the food tasted delicious. The ambience is not super nice but the sunset view is a plus. We got the stuffed shrimp and the lobster ravioli. Both were something you wouldn't get anywhere else or make at home so that justifies the price. Lol. Staying at the Sanderling it's an easy walk away.

Go as early as they open up then. If you call, the gentleman that runs (owns?) the place will answer or reply quickly (typically). Let him know your plans. If you go late, the only issue may be the bugs when you are leaving; otherwise, it is worth your time and money, I assure you. Cheers!
No...all inside seating spread out
Yes you just have to call the restaurant.
They are closed for season . I do not think they ever did carry out pizza.
I don't think so
Proposed closing date is October 27th . Whoops and we usually reopened right at Easter week.
