Food was excellent. Like, really good! And the service was great too. One order got a little messed up and they were quick to fix it and knock it off the bill.

I can’t review the food here because we never saw any food. We came in for dinner on a Saturday night. The place was not full at all and we were seated right away. The place looked extremely disheveled- wrinkled table cloths, no place settings, etc., but our waitress took our orders fairly quickly which was encouraging. We ordered drinks, an appetizer, and our meals all at one time. And then we waited. And waited. And waited. Eventually my friend went up to the bar and asked the host about our drinks. He checked on them and they did finally come- but that was the only good thing about them. The beer that my dining companion ordered was warm, yuck, and my sangria, which was advertised to be full of fresh fruit, was served in a glass that was impossible to drink out of, and the fresh fruit was nothing more than a lemon and lime slice. This would all have been fine with us. We are easy. But we finished our drinks, and then we waited some more. There were no new guests. The place was still not busy. Finally my friend went to the bar again and asked the host for another beer. He was told that it would be right out. Again we waited and watched our waitress and the rest of the wait staff totally ignore us. It has been a long day for us, and we like to give everybody the benefit of the doubt, so we kept waiting just hoping that we would see food or another drink or at least have somebody stop by to let us know what the hold up was. Eventually we had had enough. We got up, paid for our two drinks, and left. We are now at a wonderful diner down the road enjoying some actual food!

We have been to Salt at least 5 times. It is hit or miss. Mostly miss. Tonight we ordered 2 steak specials. $50 each. Just an FYI - when your menu lists entrees for between $18-$30 you should probably mention the price when people order the steak special. $50 is a lot for a steak anywhere. It has to be really good for that $. A small thin fatty steak for $50 with some mashed potatoes? One person left a good amount, the other left almost all of the dinner. You probably noticed that when they went back to the kitchen. One star for the nice service person that tried.

I love the environment this place has. It's very nice and the people are very well mannered. I ordered the steak and it came out amazing. I couldn't ask for a better plate than I got. Salt Bistro is 1 of my favorites now.
