Sometimes the selection is a little lacking. If you're in a bind for outdoor equipment or clothing usually a solid bet. Occasional deal to be had. Saw an end cap advertising a mat that didn't bother to list the price. Price wasn't on the product either. Online ordering can take weeks to ship out from my last experience and why I was there to return something that arrived late. Company itself is political. I get enough of that garbage on a day-to-day basis I don't need it from my retailers. REI offers in person local events but they're not existent in Overland Park.

REI brand sleeping pads are apparently short-term use disposable products. I’ve been a fan and regular customer of REI for years, but just now got told by a green vest over the phone, “REI stands behind their products for a whole year, but after that you’re on your own” for trying to get a bit of advice on a stuck valve on a lightly used several year old Air Rail 1.5 actually used for maybe 10 weeks total. She told me that any REI repairs go through Rainy Day Repairs. I called them up and a much more helpful tech said “Yeah, they like to send people to us for that, but we don’t do any sleeping pad repairs.” Moral of the story for me is: in the future don’t buy any REI-brand items that I hope to own for years of careful use. Apparently the cost savings comes from REI not running their own repair shop someplace staffed with people knowledgeable about fixing your product. I’ll be continuing to try to find a way to fix my valve, no help from REI, because I believe responsible use of resources means where possible buying good stuff, using it for a long time, and being able to fix common failure points (like a valve!) to extend that life.

Renee in the hiking boot department was SUPER helpful. She was patient & friendly even tho she was dealing with several customers all at once (one of whom was a little snarky). While the store didn't have the boot in the color/size combo I needed, I found a new (to me) brand that I am looking forward to trying. I can order it to my home, and can do so with utmost confidence now that I've tried it on at the store. Thank you, Renee & REI.

Our family loves REI! We moved to the KC area from Minnesota, this REI is alot smaller then what we are used to, but they still have a decent selection of outdoor gear from clothing to camping & everything outdoors in between.

It seems allowed. I've seen a couple of non-service dogs trying on harnesses and lifejackets.
There is a good video on YouTube. https://youtu.be/j8pZruB9-MA. Hope that helps.
Hey bud, you'll want to contact customer service for help. Google maps is not monitored by the company
