I have been volunteering and contributing to Free Wheelchair Mission for about a dozen years. While many organizations help the disabled in the United States, this organization provides wheelchairs to the poorest of the poor disabled in developing nations around the world. The soft-spoken and humble engineer /founder of FWM developed a simple and affordable wheelchair years ago to provide the life-changing gift of mobility to disabled individuals who might not otherwise have a means to get themselves off the ground, go to school, have employment, or just feel dignity. This non-profit is comprised of a small staff of employees and volunteers with big hearts. They receive donations to manufacture the wheelchair parts which are shipped to the recipients' countries and assembled by volunteers. These recipients feel the love of God and mankind when they receive their wheelchair. They also feel unmeasurable hope. I am so blessed to love close by and to be able to volunteer for the Free Wheelchair Mission.

Top charity that truly makes a difference in the world. Your donations are put to use rather wasted on advertising/overhead.

Hi Dixie, thank you for writing! You can order Christmas cards (printed or e-card) at https://www.freewheelchairmission.org/christmas/christmas-shop/. Each $80 card includes the donation of a wheelchair and a greeting card that you can send to your son and daughter. They can use the included gift code to choose which region they would like to send their wheelchair to. Please let us know if you have any questions about this. Thanks again for writing!
