Visiting the emergency department at Mission Hospital Mission Viejo was a terrifying experience for me recently. No urgency, empathy or caring is felt. As I was in excruciating pain, I inquired as to how long I would have to wait, as the staff were conversing and laughing loudly as I waited in agony for hours. In the end, the nurse had me go to her while she was sitting in her chair while I was in pain and hardly able to walk when I requested for pain medicine because she was upset at me for inquiring earlier about why I had to wait so long. Most upsetting, I saw other similarly mistreated clients as I waited. It's disappointing that a hospital's stated objective of providing high-quality, compassionate healthcare has been shown to be a fraudulent claim.

The emergency room doctor was awful-incompetent and non caring! My husband was brought in by ambulance as I believed he had suffered a stroke. The emergency room Dr. tried to tell me he got dizzy because he ripped off a bandaid - kinda like when someone sees blood and faints! I was speechless-I asked him if his father or wife had the same symptoms would he send them home and he said yes he would. I told him I wanted my husband to have an MRI first. He said “Well, you’ll be waiting all night. There’s a lot of other people waiting for an MRI.” He told us he’d give us a few minutes to decide. He came back to the room and I said “ the CDC guidelines post the symptoms of a stroke and my husband has all them! He then said “ok, you are staying the night then.” A few minutes later a wonderful Dr. came in and from there my husband was put in the progressive stroke care unit and everyone there was absolutely fabulous. I give them FIVE stars!! My husband did stroke in three parts of his brain- thank God, I didn’t take the “advice” of the emergency room doctor. He shouldn’t be working as a doctor!1 star for the emergency room Dr.

Excellent hospital. Recommend. Attentive doctors and nurses, experts in their field. Everything is done under anesthesia, if necessary, sedation is prescribed. Everything in the rooms is clean and new.

Worst Emergency Room I’ve ever been to! Save your time and money and go to Hoag in Newport or any other place. I’ve been to multiple eregency rooms and this is by far the worst. The Nurses were rude and had additude. The Security doesn’t seem like they want to be there. Will not be returning and wish I could do negative stars.

The ER doctor doesn't take insurance and sends you a $1200 bill. They don't tell you if a provider is out of network, they send you surprise bill.

Yes, we have care managers that help patients to make arrangements for care after discharge, however.... I think you have the wrong Mission Hospital. We are based in Southern California.

In you outgoing paperwork it will give you info for meditech. Also when you were leaving the nurse told me about this. That means you were informed twice. It is available online.

Outpatient (at least years ago) is in the old section, it looks like it's 1 story. But you should you go to admissions first which is in the main hospital 1st floor.
