I grew up here in West LB on Harbor Ave and I used go to this here park (AK Park) with moms and my homies and their moms in the late 80’s early 90’s…when they used to hand out free lunches every day of the summer… in 1992 I was on AK parks softball team as the Catcher 11-12 year olds I believe … we won the city Championship that year… only one loss to Silverado park during the season but took them out in the playoffs. We smashed on Bixby park in the finals. All Mexican kids on my team except for 1 black and 1 Islander kid … our coach was a Brotha named DJ. Anyway this park ain’t like it used to be. West up!!!👉🏼

I love this park. However I am displeased that I rode my bike there as usual and the public restrooms were fenced and the one porta potty locked!

There was a nice playground and amenities. I appreciated the water bottle filling fountain, the bike repair station and the exercise circuit. The trees gave lovely shade, though not on the play equipment. The soccer field was just a dust bowl, however
