The museum had one exhibition which surprised me. The exhibit was very nice, very nice. However the price should have been reduced for entry. The woman Artis Alma W Thomas was from Washington, DC and she grew up around the corner from where I lived as a child. She was a black artist that could not put her in museums however she has arrived after her death.

I visited Nashville and needed a place to spend time before a late flight, visiting the Frist Art Museum exceeded my wants and expectations. Their exhibits are thoughtful and inspiring, their guides are helpful. I loved the interactive art station with printmaking, color theory, and painting for kids and adults. Good facilities, too. I walked and took public transport, so I did not have to worry about the parking. Their parking is paid so people should know that in advance.

The architecture alone is worth a visit. The two featured exhibits on display when I visited were both unique in varying mediums as well as engaging in subject matter. There's truly a lot packed in to this relatively small space.

Only one of the exhibits were open when we visited, which was unfortunate. It’s a cheap activity for something to do. Informational & cool to see, I guess I just expected more exhibits to be open. We were able to see the medieval bologna exhibit. The books are really cool to see. Interesting to see how things were interpreted in that era. The building is beautiful! Check out which exhibits are open. Would recommend it more if there were more than one exhibits open.
