HORRIBLE. I have been trying to get health coverage for my children since JANUARY! My worker NEVER returns my calls. She promised me that she'd get my insurance approved a month ago for my baby who has very bad asthma...yet STILL nothing. I have uploaded ALL of my documents TWICE to the online system and have faxed them in, as well. NO ONE gets back to me!!! My kids can't even go to the doctor because of this. AWFUL! GET BETTER WORKERS WHO ANSWER THEIR PHONES!!!!

My recipe for success here has always been show up right when they open and be friendly to the workers. They've got a tough job with tough customers...so doing what I can to make their life easier has typically resulted in a positive experience myself as well. The phone team as been exceptional as well. Versus many other government agencies...5-stars for sure. Thanks for all you've done in for my family and me in our season of need.

Hi Lisa: All County holiday office closures are listed online. For the Human Services Department, you can check the calendar here: http://sonomacounty.ca.gov/Human-Services/Calendar/. You'll see offices are closed for New Year's Day on January 1, etc. That way you can check anytime you're unsure.
Economic Assistance Division helps eligible residents apply for Medi-Cal health insurance and CalFresh food benefit. This office location will close on September 23, 2019, so it's best to visit the other two locations: Economic Assistance, 2550 Paulin Dr., Santa Rosa, OR, in northern Petaluma, the Human Services South County Center, 5350 Old Redwood Highway North, Suite 100. Hours at both offices are 8 am-5 pm, Monday-Friday.
