I moved here recently and I can walk to this place. It’s has lovely gardens and trees. It’s a calm place, not a place to get a big hike or run, unless I haven’t discovered it yet.

Love walking through the gardens!! My grandmother lives in the apartments nextdoor/on the grounds and it's really nice to be able to cross the driveway and walk through the orchard, there are some truly wonderful, *old* trees and plants and I love the plaques with the names and details for each one/grouping

Wonderful slice of history and lovely walking paths. Plant sales featuring Burbank plants at budget friendly prices too.

Love it!! We visited on a Wednesday and you should too. Volunteers are there on Wednesday and they are full to the brim with knowledge, history, and contemporary happenings of Luther Burbank's farm and his life. You can visit his cottage and learn about his life. You can buy a plant they propogated from seed or buy jam they made from peaches that Luther's stone fruits trees produced. There is much history in motion here and worthwhile historical wisdom to build on. Question is, what is beautiful? And, what is practical?, and, which is more important?

Wikipedia says: born in Lancaster, MA and died in Santa Rosa, CA.
The best resources regarding Burbank's life and experiments are these two books, available at the Farm cottage gift shop or the gift shop at the Burnbank Home in Santa Rosa: The Garden of Invention by Jane S. Smith and A Gardener Touched With Genius by Peter Dreyer. I hope that you enjoy the Farm. Steve Levenberg
