Lady answering the calls at the front is rude and seems to just forward your calls to another dept. Trying to call back but now no one is answering. It seems like having good customer service now and days is too much to ask for. Dislike the fact that people working for the city or county feel so entitled.

I’ve been going to the Sonoma county building department for some years now and every time I leave, I’m either stressed out or angry beyond belief. This place is an absolute mess. Get it together hire staff or better yet staff who actually know what they’re talking about. All we are trying to do is build homes in Sonoma County for people that need them and this department makes it so incredibly stressful it’s beyond belief.

In a standard subdivision 6 ft side and back setbacks for structures and a 20 ft. front setback. Hope it helps!!!
Inspections for building permits are available Monday-Friday each week. During the COVID-19 pandemic, most building inspections are performed virtually as video inspections. You should have all the documents...it's all submitted online at the moment...when you submit they will review the documents for completeness, and tell you if you application is complete. There's always some niggly thing they want. It can take up to 3 months or poss more, depends what you're doing

I not the county fortunately! I don't think there's a minimum on a sewer lot, you just have to meet the setbacks. I think it's 5000 square feet on septic, but good luck engineering a septic system on a lot of that size!
