Having just moved in a month ago here are my initial impressions and experiences. Having visited several other complexes I was pleased with the condition of the lobby, hallways and elevators. They all were clean, well kept and smelled fresh unlike some other places I looked at. The laundry room was clean and has enough washers and dryers so it should be available anytime and most importantly the building has fire sprinklers. Moving into a new home always has a few challenges, however Helen and Raquel the office managers and their staff were patient and genuinely interested in helping me feel comfortable. My apartment is bright and airy with a spacious floorpan and a large walk-in closet. When I moved it was freshly painted, clean and virtually everything worked as it was supposed to. It appeared like management cared enough to have it ready to live in. Over the first few weeks I discovered a few small issues that management corrected almost immediately. It’s a quiet atmosphere here and the few people i’ve met seem pleasant, they tell me there were many enjoyable social activities before the Corona virus, I look forward to that in the future. Unfortunately there’s no system to pay the rent electronically (without a service fee) but using the “bill pay” option through my credit union was an easy work around. Being across the street from the Five Points Plaza shopping center is a major plus with a Trader Joe’s market and many other shops and restaurants only a short walking distance away. Within a 2-3 block radius are several strip malls with pharmacies, dozens of restaurants and even a car wash with virtually every other type of store you could think of close enough for me to walk to. Less than 10 minutes away (by car) are Walmart, Costco and the Bella Terra shopping center next to the 405 freeway. So far I feel good about choosing Five Point Seniors Apartments. P.S. I have recently discovered a few items that need to be repaired or replaced and I have confidence that management will do what is necessary to correct them.

M grandma lives here that's why I love it! It really is a nice place for seniors. If they like activities or shopping; they have a huge shopping center (5Points) across the street or they can take a ride in the shuttle to any place they choose! If they like to be left alone and do their own thing .... not a problem... their space is respected. The courtyards in the middle are spacious and beautifully kept and the grounds are always maintained. This is a classy place to live. Some rules apply but it’s not anything too strenuous to deal with. I take my children, the grandkids, to see their grandmama and we always go over to Trader Joe’s, across the street, a short walk, get some healthy yummy food, take it back to the courtyards, sit at the giant spacious tables and have a lovely lunch with our more than awesome elder! My grandma is shy, so it’s hard for her to meet people, but, she has met a few friends here and they are just as awesome! The maintenance guys come and help her whenever she encounters a problem she can’t fix herself. They are Johnny on the spot and so courteous... they are really professional and know what they are doing. Only thing... parking is pretty crowded so a lot of times parking on Florida Street is a better option. Don’t be afraid of expensive rent... this one is reasonably priced for the area and well worth it!

I would recommend opening the balcony doors and windows for rooms facing the main street side of the building and paying attention to the traffic noise. If you can put up with the noise fine, but be warned that it is loud and continues till late at night and starts up early in the morning.

Questions & Answers

How much is the rent? I lost my husband recently and my income is just Social Security. What do I need to qualify? I can walk and take care of myself sufficiently. Just need affordable housing.

Depends on the size of the unit you rent. I don't know if there are studios but at least $1,400 I would think.

I’m looking for an apt in HB for the month of Dec and January for my 73 year old brother. Would this be a possibility in an over 55 community?
