If we go on a weekday again, we will make sure to go after 5:00 pm when people can bring their dogs...and also when it is cooler. My second piece of advice is to make sure that you are on the correct side of the beach. The dogs had a lot of fun and so did we!

Amazing spot to bring your dog to run around and for yourself to ride some waves...or just hangout (it could be windy and cool despite the sunshine). The only drawback would be the necessary walk to access the beach. So, just bring a few items and don't be loaded. Is paid parking when using the one by the beach, but one could find free parking across the PCH just a bit more walking.

My family's go-to getaway. Locals and businesses are friendly and pretty laid back. It's an overall welcoming for kids and adults. I'm not a local but please pick up after yourself, respect others in the community and support cities like this. Best place to be not just bcus of the beach but a place to just relax from the craziness.

This is a great place to take your dog if they love the water and sand. Lots of other dogs running wild. It's a beautiful place to hang out and cool off during the hot days.

Yes there are parking lots right by the entrance with hourly parking. They fill up fast on weekends so be sure to get there early.
Yes, it kid friendly. Tides are usually less heavy but they do very in strength.
Dog beach is a public beach and is open all day and night. Enjoy dog beach
The water is pretty shallow for quite a ways out. As long as you stay close and keep eye on your dog, they can play in the water safely. It is also a good idea to keep them on a leash so you have control over how far they go. The dogs really seem to love being there and playing. We have taken our dog twice and will definitely take her back.
