Fantastic staff, and wonderful dogs. What they do here changes lives!

Canine Companions is a wonderful non profit that works very hard to help gift quality certified service dogs to people with disabilities and they do it for FREE! They are changing people's lives one dog at a time and that is something I can really get behind. Great organization!

A physical disability and the ability to care for a dog, . It can be anything from an obvious disability (wheelchair user) to something that's not obvious (deaf or something like an autoimmune disease). This is an oversimplification of their process. The application process takes months to get through and it includes medical, Financial, living situation and income. There is a ton of paperwork, and interviews by phone and in person.
Hi Ilene, Canine Companions only train the dogs they bread and they are not Papilions. Looks like you might be asking the incorrect organization. Have you tried to contact ADI - Assistance Dogs International? They might be able to help you.
Hi Dan, they are offered back to the original Puppy Raiser for adoption, which most of us accept 😋 Otherwise, they can be placed with approved applicants. Check with the regional program office or I believe you can apply on line at www.cci.org. Good luck!
