I had the best experience at this location, I had part of an sd card stuck in my camera which made it unusable and within a few minutes it was taken care of and the owner is very kind and knowledgeable. I definitely will be coming back to this location!

As Professional as it gets. Experts at working with Film cameras and I have also seen many digital ones come in too. Perhaps the best and cheapest place to get your cameras serviced in San Diego. I learn more about my craft from Mike each time I come in. These guys have been in the business forever and are experienced technicians that have manufacturer knowledge. Truly passionate individuals. Also make sure to ask for tips on how to use your film camera here! I don't want to spoil the experience for you in the review. I hope Kurt passes on his knowledge to someone younger.

Kurt's camera repair did a fantastic job repairing my Sigma wide angle. They were super helpful over the phone getting a fast and accurate quote. The price is very reasonable and certainly worth it. After I sent my lens off it was shipped back to NW Washington within a shorter time frame than originally quoted. It was very well packaged on return too. Everything functioned great and I'll be sending more things off to them as they come up! Not only did they do an amazing job fixing my front element, they gave the whole lens a very thorough clean and adjusted the focus, honestly seemed like I was getting a new lens back. Would highly recommend!

Drove 40 minutes (each way) to Kurt's Camera repair on the recommendation of a friend. Turned out to be an excellent decision. Staff recognized the problem with my focusing screen and repaired it on the spot. Also made a few recommendations for future consideration. Polite, knowledgeable staff. Perhaps there's hope for this world after all.

I've got a Sigma 85mm 1.4 ED HSM that quit autofocusing. Maybe the autofocus motor died? Can you give me a guesstimate of how much it would cost to repair this lens? Trying to see if it's worth it. As these lenses are only going for $400-$450.

We use them for all of our Church cameras and lenses, I have used them for my own repairs as well as other close friends who are photographers. The people at Kurts are amazing! Friendly, knowledgeable and get the repairs done fast and accurately. Their prices are fair, if you are in the biz of photography understand you will have to do maintenance on your equipment, these guys are great in keeping your stuff running well, especially if you treat your equipment well.

Is it possible to lubricate a sticking lens of a Nikon 9100 camera? It sometimes freezes open and releases when I power it off.

David Miller | Aug 20, 2020
Levi Parsell | Aug 21, 2018

That is not recommended, the lubrication will likely migrate to places it shouldnt be. It sounds like you may have debris in the zoom mechanism. That is something Kurts can fix pretty easily.

1 man is responsible for all the analog gear, so expect a longer wait than you would get for digital repairs.

Good afternoon. Nikon USA issued a service advisory in 2009 to service the problem you are referring to. See link below: https://www.nikonusa.com/en/service-and-support/service-advisories/d5000-service-advisory.html However, they are no longer servicing it. You can stop by or ship the camera in for a free estimate. We should be able to repair it unless it's a main board issue. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us. -Customer Service Kurt's Camera Repair
