Best bodybuilding gym in town! All metal plates none of that rubber nonsense. Every-time I walk in I feel like a kid walking into a candy store. Hardcore equipment all around and the melodious sounds of 45s clanging against each other against the backdrop of heavy metal music. Great atmosphere of highly motivated meatheads and some of the most beautiful women in the world all working towards a common goal of being the gnarliest version of themselves. I love it here.

Pros: I’ve been to a lot of gyms and this is by far the best in terms of size and equipment. It has a very motivational environment as it is filled with body builders and influencers. Cons: Parking is horrible. The area is trashy and surrounded by homeless. If you’re an attractive girl, expect to be approached by a “personal trainer” during your workout. The staff are cool, but the older gentleman (probably the manager) is very grumpy and unhelpful. Had to ask him a question once, won’t do it again. If your work pays for your gym and requires a printed attendance, they can’t do it, but I don’t see this being a common issue.

I’ve been working out here for 4 months now and I love it. I heard about The Gym from a friend when I moved to San Diego and gave it a shot, I couldn’t be more happy. Pros: Rooftop outdoor gym, two second signup process, fair prices, great staff and ownership, and 3 stories of ever piece of exercise equipment you can think of. Not to mention this place is effectively ’Muscle Beach’ of San Diego and packed with celebrities from the fitness world on a regular basis. Cons: Parking. Parking is brutal due to the popularity of the gym. If you can walk or take a bike, please do.

No, this is a bodybuilding gym. They have machines, a decent number of free weights, posing areas, cardio. No pool, no bball, nothing like that.
