Open on weekends only. Closes early. We'll stoked w trout. Bass n bluegill, some larger too. Shore line fishing only. But handicapped accessible! Nice management, knowledgeable. Only $5 parking fee! No shade, come prepared. Nice spot to bring kids. Highly recommend.

Hello! I am a newly employed weekend patrolman for irvine lake. I love this place. -Keep in mind that it is only open Friday- Sunday for fishing from the shore only (subject to weather closures). No contact with the water. -Only $5 to park, no license required. -About a 20 minute walk or 1/2 mile to shoreline from parking lot. -No dogs allowed, for their safety and the environment. -One line in the water per person at a time. They are planting approximately 1500 lbs of trout 8 more times between right now, December 24 2021, and the end of February 2022. They have planted 3 or 4 times already this season. Read more about the lake at ocparks.gov Serrano water district website, and the Irvine company history of orange county. We'll see you there!

It's open again it's free to fish parking is $5 or oc parks parking pass works. No boats allowed currently but hopefully in time they'll be. Go catch something. Bass are catch and release. 4000 lbs of Trout being stocked every other week. West Shore seems to be where most anglers are catching trout.

Questions & Answers

How can we as fishermen get this lake open to boat fishing? It’s to bad what happened years ago, it’s time we bring back the good ol days of Irvine Lake. I’m sure we will need a ton of money and a hand full of good layers.

I know the tragedy that happened a few years back is a consideration but I think the bigger issue is the water level.

How is the fishing now( today)?

11-18-21 Fishing for the past few months has been terribly slow (I'm a regular at this lake) I hear a lot about fish plants from other fishermen at this lake but I believe that is just wishful thinking. My only consolation is that it only costs $5 total to fish here and that I get a good cardio workout on the way to and from the lake. but even so, every so often the fish gods reward your patience with a large bass, catfish or carp at this lake, so I keep coming back.
